Hm Which school is better for learning Commercial/Fashion Photography?? [in NYC]

I’ve heard good things about FIT and Parsons in NYC. The curriculum in FIT Photo Department sounds exciting to me, But Parsons has a better reputation in the Fashion world. Opinions?

Parsons has a great reputation. I had a friend who taught at FIT and he was a wonderful photographer. You probably wouldn’t go wrong at either place, and could probably transfer from one to the other with comparatively little loss if unsatisfied with your first choice.

Hm I thought Parsons wouldnt accept transfers from FIT, and vice versa.

  3. Make sure that, at school, you learn ACCOUNTING. and CONTRACTS. your talents as a photographer will be far outweighed by your talents as a business person.

you don’t need to go to school to be an artist. go to network with future brilliant creative people, learn as much different stuff as you can with their fancy equipment, and understand that you can’t skip over ‘starting at the bottom’.

And going to learn photography in a fashion oriented school, wouldnt that get contacts in the fashion industry?
